Our 4th Annual Volees will be Sept. 11th at 7PM in the Gym. We are rolling out the red card carpet for all of our volunteers. If you are currently volunteering or looking to join our volunteer team, The Volees is an event you won’t want to miss. This is your chance to wear that chic, evening party outfit you have been waiting for! Everyone is welcome!

The tornados that swept through Joplin on Sunday, May 22 left the city in complete devastation. Our hearts are broken for those affected by this horrible tragedy. As the Church of Jesus Christ, we can’t sit idly by; we must do something. Our mission: To Love God, Serve People, And Reach The World, compels us to respond to this tragedy. Let’s take the hope and love that we have as a church to the people of Joplin.

There are three ways for you to get involved.

1. Give. You can give online at Convoy of Hope.

2. Volunteer. You can volunteer. Email Tiffany Lyons.

3. Spread The Word. Use the #PrayForJoplin twitter/facebook icon.

High Street's 75th Anniversary:

We have got some big plans in the works for the Anniversary Celebration Week!

We are staring the week off with a bang on May 11, Wednesday Night. The doors open at 6PM. All the volunteers will need to arrive at 5:30PM. We will meet in Room 143 which will be our volunteer central for the week. We will provide ChicFilA for all the volunteers. We will give out name tags and assignments. This night is going to have a Volees feel, so we encourage you to dress up like you would for the Volees.

At 6PM all the volunters will be in place and ready to go. After the service we will go right into the reception. The reception will be int he parking lot in the front of the buiding. We have tents and tables rented, a stringed quartet hired, and much more!

Volunteers who Sign up for the OneSolePurpose 5K 10K 1 Mile Walk will have their info passed along to the OneSolePurpose Organization. They will contact you with specifics about what you will be doing as a volunteer that day.

Sunday we will have Sunday School at 9:45AM. Volunteers who are helping during the Sunday School hour will come to Volunteer Central at 9:10AM. You can check in and we will be providing breakfast as well. If you are volunteering for the 11:00AM hour, you will need to be at Volunteer Central at 10:30AM.

There will be a Prayer Rally for the 75th Anniversary on May 1st. This is gong to be a time we will all pray that god does something big that week. This will also be a time where all the volunteers will meet with their leaders and get the details of what they have volunteered for will look like. This is also the time for the volunteers to sign up for ChicFilA on May 11th.

High Street is having our 75th Anniversary this May. The celebration is taking place on May 11, 14, 15. There are many teams of volunteers that are making this week happen. Our goal and hope is that everyone who attends High Street will participate as a volunteer at the Anniversary. So sign up today and we will put you on a team!

Here at High Street we don’t just Go to church, we ARE the church. As the volunteer coordinator, it is my passion that everyone who attends High Street be a part of our team of volunteers. God has created us as individuals with different gifts and abilities. God designed us for a specific purpose. We believe that together we can accomplish our purpose by doing three things: Love God, Serve People, and Reach the Word! We accomplish our purpose when individuals volunteer in specific areas and ways with the passions and abilities they are gifted in. As volunteers we are ordinary people doing ordinary things with an extraordinary passion. I want to invite you to join the team!
